MENTOR-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio- A fawn was reunited with its mother in Mentor-on-the-Lake on Friday.

A resident of Springwood Court found the baby deer crying in a sink hole behind his property. The Mentor-on-the-Lake Police Department said the man was worried the deer’s mother, who remained nearby, would become aggressive if he tried to help.

The resident cleared some debris and reached into the hole to pull the young deer to safety. The fawn was extremely dirty, but appeared to be OK.
