CLEVELAND - Published reports claim Cleveland Peacemakers Alliance leader and former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Reggie Rucker is under federal investigation for the handling of grant of money provided to the organization by the Cleveland Foundation.

Fox 8 spoke to Rucker over the phone Friday afternoon.

Rucker said he is aware of the published reports, adding he is quote "fully transparent" and cooperating with anyone looking into his handling of grant money.

Meantime, attorney Michael Hennenberg confirmed he is representing Reggie Rucker in connection with allegations made in published reports.

Attorney Hennenberg said, “We respect the government’s right to look into how any and all grant money is spent, and we will cooperate with the government or anyone else who has a question about the spending of grant money."

The Cleveland Foundation’s Executive Vice President Bob Eckardt told Fox 8’s Suzanne Stratford that, “The Cleveland Foundation does not have details on any investigation of Mr. Rucker, but we have responded to a request from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for copies of grant applications for the Peacemakers Alliance.

Fox 8 also contacted the U.S. Attorney's Office but spokesperson Mike Tobin, said they could not confirm or deny the existence of any investigation.

Rucker has always been a supporter of law enforcement and they have in turn supported him. His attorney says that will not change.

Reggie remains committed to stopping the senseless killings in Cleveland.
