Man dies after two-car crash in Mentor

MENTOR, Ohio- A Mentor man died after a two-car crash Thursday morning.

It happened just after 6:10 a.m. at Johnnycake Ridge and King Memorial roads.

According to Mentor police, 34-year-old Kyle Elig drove left of center and hit another car head on. Firefighters extracted him from the vehicle and he was taken to Lake West Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The other driver, a 73-year-old Madison woman, was taken to Hillcrest Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Mentor Police Department said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
