Downed trees, power outages in Avon Lake after storms

AVON LAKE, Ohio- Avon Lake was hit hard Tuesday morning as storms brought down trees and caused flooding across the city.

Residents of Crestwood and Curtis drives are spending the morning cleaning up branches and unloading buckets of water.

One man said he heard a large crash around 5 a.m. and came outside to see a tree cut in half on his front yard. His neighbor woke up to find his drum set floating in the basement.

Avon Lake Fire Department said the worst hit area is along Electric Boulevard, but there are trees down and power outages across the area.
