Son killed for testimony in Warrensville Heights barbershop murder case, mother says

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio- Investigators are at the scene of a homicide in Warrensville Heights, the Fox 8 I-Team has learned.

City officials said someone reported hearing gunfire just before 9 a.m. Thursday in the 19500 block of Harvard Avenue. When police arrived, they found a victim who suffered a gunshot wound.

The Ohio BCI is helping with the homicide investigation.

A woman identifying herself as the victim's mother told Fox 8 News this was in retaliation for her son's expected testimony in the barbershop murder case.

Three people were killed and three others injured during the shooting at the Warrensville Heights on Feb. 5. A week later, Douglas Shine Jr. was arrested and charged for the crime.
