Shot fired at Shaker Heights police while chasing robbery suspects

A single shot was fired at Shaker Heights police on May 29, 2015.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio- One suspect was arrested and two more remain at large after a shot was fired at Shaker Heights officers.

At about 2:30 a.m. Friday, officers spotted a car that was wanted for an earlier armed robbery. Police said the car ran a red light and fled when they attempted a traffic stop on Lee Road.

The three suspects took off on foot on Fernway Road. That’s when one of them fired a single shot at officers.

No one was injured.

A 19-year-old was taken into custody and treated for a canine bite. Police recovered a weapon and seized the car.
