Elyria police asking for help in identifying two bank robbery suspects

ELYRIA – Two men robbed the Comm Stat Community Credit Union around 4 p.m. Thursday.

According to police, both men entered the bank and one suspect jumped the counter. He is described as a white male, between 5’8″ and 5’10” and between 170-200 lbs.

The second male, race unknown, took out a handgun and told employees to back away from the counter and put their hands in the air.

The second male demanded the employees stay this way until the first male was done emptying the bank drawers.

No injuries were reported.

Both males were wearing bandana masks and fled the scene in an older model, compact vehicle that was possibly royal blue in color.

A third suspect was seen driving the vehicle.

Anyone with information should contact Elyria Police Department or the FBI, 216-522-1400. Reward money is available for information leading to the successful identification and prosecution of the individuals responsible for this bank robbery.
