CLEVELAND– Police are investigating a mysterious incident with a little girl that happened in a quiet neighborhood on the city’s west side.

Detectives were back out in the area on West 162nd  Thursday looking for any video and talking to those living on the street, trying to figure out exactly what happened to an 8-year-old girl.

Last Thursday Cleveland police were called to the area after neighbors found a girl who appeared to be in shock.  They said she was disheveled, and visibly shaking.

One woman who found the girl told Fox 8 the child had visible injuries on her, and leaves in her hair.

The girl was unable to answer any questions, and only told police and nurses at the hospital that a man and woman had attacked her outside.

Those living near where the girl was found are on edge.

“Very difficult and it’s been an eye-opening experience,” said Nichole Arduini.

The girl’s mother and grandmother said they are hoping an arrest will be made soon.

The victim’s mother said her daughter spent nearly a week in the hospital, and is unable to remember exactly what happened.

“Our family has been in complete distress,” the girl’s mother said.

Anyone who may have seen something or has any information is asked to call Cleveland police.
