WILLOUGHBY, Ohio -- Police say two 15-year-olds plowed a stolen van into a moving train early Friday in Willoughby.

Police say it all happened between 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m., when the 1998 Plymouth Voyager van involved was stolen in Willowick.

Two teens in the stolen van led police on a chase.  The suspects were reportedly driving in excess of 90 miles per hour at times, and at one point nearly struck a Willoughby police officer.

When they approached the train tracks on Erie Street in Willoughby, the suspects hit the moving train head-on.

The suspects got out of the van and tried to flee on foot. One of the suspects tried to get away by fleeing underneath the moving train, but was hit. Police say jumping underneath the train caused him to lose part of his arm.

Both suspects, who are from Cleveland, were flown to a local hospital. The incident is still under investigation.

Anyone who witnessed what happened is asked to call the Willoughby Police Detective Bureau at 440-953-4210.
