ELYRIA, Ohio- Michael Nichols, 27, was arrested at MetroHealth Medical Center for the April 24 attack on an innocent man, Elyria police said.

Three men approached the victim just after midnight at the Midview Crossing Apartments on Middle Avenue.

Police said the suspects were looking for people involved in an earlier attack. When the victim told them he knew nothing about the other incident, they targeted him anyway.

As the 18-year-old old lies motionless on the ground, the suspects can be seen going through his pockets. They take $20, then continue to punch, kick and stop on his body.

Officers tracked down James Currie, 18, and Sean Buchanan, 24, in Cleveland. They were charged with felonious assault and remain behind bars on $15,000 bond. Police said both men confessed.

Nichols remained on the loose until early Wednesday morning. He was taken to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office and booked on felonious assault charges.
