I-Team: Investigation into possible misuse of late-golfer Charles Sifford’s money wraps up
The FOX 8 I-Team has learned investigators have wrapped up an investigation into the possible misuse of the money of legendary golfer Charlie Sifford.
Sifford died in Northeast Ohio in February at the age of 92. He broke the color barrier on the PGA tour and became a champion.
Records showed, before he died, there were claims of “financial exploitation.” The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department and the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation looked into it.
A source close to the case tells the I-Team that findings have been given to prosecutors to review and decide if any charges should be filed.
We’ve reached out to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor to find out more.
