Two arrested in Mentor for drug deal….right in front of police car

MENTOR, Ohio – A pair of men are accused of trying to complete a drug deal in a Mentor parking lot on Thursday night. Unfortunately for them, they were transacting business in front of a marked police cruiser.

Officers in the car saw the men engaging in suspicious activity at around 10:30 p.m. They detained both men and brought in a K9 dog to sniff around. The dog detected what turned out to be stash of illegal drugs.

Both men were arrested. 33-year-old Michael Chambers of Painesville was charged with felony drug charges and with possession of “drug tools” – a scale and a cell phone. 30-year-old Mark Hudik of Fairport Harbor was charged with a felony possession of drugs and also with possession of drug tools, in his case, a cell phone.

In addition, Chamers was also wanted by Painesville Police on a felonious assault warrant.
