PARMA – After thousands of dollars worth of baseball equipment was stolen from the Garfield Heights baseball league, the community stepped in to help.

After a break-in, nearly $4,000 worth of equipment was taken, including 30-40 aluminum bats, eight sets of catchers’ gear, as well as other metal equipment.

This prompted the community and a local business to step in and help.

Thanks to the Dick’s Sporting Goods in Parma, a few kids were able to go on a shopping spree on Saturday and spend $2,000 on new equipment for their teams.
