CLEVELAND- Family members are looking for answers following a shooting on Cleveland’s west side that left one dead and injured four others.

It happened on Bosworth Road near Thrush Avenue just after 11 p.m. Sunday.

“It is my understanding it was a physical altercation between some females,” Cleveland Police Sgt. Ali Pillow said.

Michael D. Matthews, 47, died of his injuries, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office said.

“I really don't understand it at all. A senseless fight with some girls and it ended in a gun fight,” said Brianna Matthews, Michael’s daughter.

Neighbors told Fox 8 News they saw the suspect run away while firing several shots. When officers arrived, there was a large crowd at the scene. Now, there is a growing memorial to the victims.

One of the shooting victims is pregnant. She was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the chest. Two other men were also shot.

Another woman suffered a gunshot wound to the elbow and taken to Fairview Hospital.
