Update: 4-year-old struck by vehicle while riding bike

CLEVELAND – There have been no citations issued in an accident involving a 4-year-old child riding a bike last night.

Cleveland Police tell us that the  child was riding a bicycle with training wheels on the sidewalk of Rocky River Drive when he lost control and headed towards curb. The driver of an oncoming vehicle attempted to avoid the child, but hit the wheel of the bike with one of the rear wheels of the vehicle. The bike flipped over.

The boy was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with contusions and swelling and was admitted.

A preliminary investigation shows that the driver of the vehicle was not impaired.
