STOW - Scott Purk is currently serving 28 years for burning down his own home in 2013 to collect the insurance money.

30 years earlier, Purk had police at his home because he said he found his wife, who was then 8 and a half month pregnant, hanging from a rope in their apartment.

Purk said he tried to save her, and her death was later ruled a suicide.

After Purk's 2011 indictment for the fire, police looked back into his wife's death. They later exhumed the body, finding that she was strangled with something, possibly a belt, before she was hanged.

Purk is now the target of an indictment in his wife's murder and tampering with evidence.
