SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department confirmed that the small packet a woman found inside her Nature Valley granola bar was cocaine.

Cynthia Rodriguez reported the incident back in late March, according to KENS.

Rodriguez originally thought she had won a prize, but when she contacted Nature Valley, they told her to contact her local police department.

The officers first tested the small packet to see if it was heroin, it wasn’t.

“He tried for cocaine and they both looked at each other and he goes ‘oh my goodness, its high quality cocaine,'” said Rodriguez.

“We’re not sure if this was something added on purpose or if it was something that may have fallen out of someone’s pocket on the assembly line,” said one of the detectives.

General Mills, who makes Nature Valley bars said in a statement that “We referred this to the police department in March, and are confident this did not happen in our facility.”

When asked why they were so confident it did not happen inside the company, a spokesperson said the granola bars move through production too quickly for someone to put something inside one of them.
