Police: Man being held in connection with Tremont robbery

CLEVELAND– FOX 8 News has learned Cleveland police are holding a 21-year-old man in jail, suspected of multiple armed robberies including the hold-up of a woman in Tremont.

A court record shows the man and a juvenile male used a gun to rob a woman of her purse days ago on Starkweather Avenue.

A document also shows the man is a suspect  in two other aggravated robberies in Cleveland. Plus, police say he had property on him from an armed robbery in Lakewood.

The man was arrested on a warrant, but detectives are still working the cases.

In recent days, a series of robberies has shaken residents around the Tremont section of the city. There will be a safety committee meeting on Monday, May 11 at 6 p.m. at OLA/St. Joseph Center at 2346 W. 14th St. in Cleveland.
