INDEPENDENCE, OH – Police aren’t sure why it started, but they spent some time very early this morning trying to break up a large fight at a Denny’s restaurant  in Independence.

Just after 3 a.m., police were called to the scene on Rockside Road to help stop a fight involving 10-15 people. Once they had calmed things down, they were able to determine that the original fight had started between 2 female diners. Two Denny’s employees tried to stop the fight, and one of them got hit for their efforts.

In the end, one male was taken into custody. There is no word yet on the extent of the injuries to the employee that was hit.
