CLEVELAND – Bad news for the Cavaliers as they head into the next series of the NBA playoffs. Forward Kevin Love sustained a left shoulder dislocation during the first quarter of yesterday’s game in Boston after tangling with Boston’s Kelly Olynyk. He will be unavailable for the Cavaliers’ upcoming conference semifinal playoff series against either the Chicago Bulls or Milwaukee Bucks. That series will begin on Monday, May 4.

Team doctors report that the injury is “an acute anterior inferior glenohumeral dislocation with the corresponding ligament/labrum tearing and humeral head bone bruising.”  Love is undergoing training room treatments and additional opinions are being obtained and treatment options being explored.

An update regarding his status beyond that will be determined over the next several days.

Monday night, the NBA announced Olynyk will be suspended a game.
