Video shows terrifying moment avalanche hits Mount Everest base after earthquake in Nepal

A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal, causing thousands to lose their lives and causing an avalanche on Mt. Everest.

A video posted on YouTube showing the moment when climbers realized the avalanche was coming towards their camp.

The video’s description says “The ground was shaking from the earthquake and as soon as we saw people running we were running ourselves to save our lives.”

On Saturday, authorities said at least 17 died in the avalanche along with more than 1,500 from the earthquake.
