CLEVELAND-- A Cleveland Municipal Court jury has found a city firefighter not guilty of lying about an accident with a fire truck.

Surveillance video obtained by FOX 8, which you can see above, shows a ladder truck crashing into a large pole in a parking lot. No other vehicles can be seen near the truck.

Police said firefighter Richard Nickerson drove the truck and that he and his boss, Ron Vargo, claimed the truck had to swerve to miss a car.

Both firefighters were charged with falsification. Vargo struck a plea deal and got probation.

But Nickerson's defense attorney, Anthony Jordan, claimed there was no evidence Nickerson actually made those statements or signed documents about the accident.

A city court jury deliberated about 90 minutes before coming back with the verdict of not guilty for Nickerson.
