CLEVELAND – A bit of a setback for the Indians, and the season is only a few days old. Yesterday, catcher Yan Gomes sustained a moderate MCL (medial collateral ligament) sprain in the 9th inning of the Tribe’s game against Detroit on Saturday.

Today, the injury was confirmed via an MRI at the Cleveland Clinic.  Gomes is expected to miss up to 6-8 weeks of game activity.
