CLEVELAND -A standoff at a Cleveland home ended peacefully Friday afternoon.

Cleveland police reported that they were called out to a home at 116th and Carolina for a report of an armed man. SWAT was also on scene.

Police removed a woman and two men from the home. Later, a small boy wandered onto the first floor porch and was carried away behind a bulletproof shield by members of the SWAT team. About an hour later, a parade of heavily armed SWAT officers entered the home and emerged minutes later with a little girl who'd been sleeping inside. A family member is caring for the children.

Cleveland police took the suspected gunman into custody. He's been taken to a local hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

Superior Avenue between East 110th and East 123rd was closed until the situation was resolved.
