Accused burglar gets caught by using victim’s Netflix account
CALIFORNIA – A man accused of burglarizing a woman’s home may not have planned on getting caught, but his Netflix usage led police right to him.
On March 4, a woman called police about thousands of dollars worth of electronics being stolen from her home. The items included a Blu Ray player, a laptop, wires, a smart TV and a sound system, according to ABC News.
A couple days later, she noticed that her Netflix account was being used to watch movies.
Police were then able to track the IP address, leading them to the home of 20-year-old Bobby Alexander.
The stolen property was allegedly found at Alexander’s home and he was charged with burglary and is being held on $75,000 bail.
