Trader Joe’s recalls raw walnuts due to possible salmonella contamination

Trader Joe’s is recalling raw walnuts distributed in Trader Joe’s stores nationwide.

According to a release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the nuts have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella.

The recall includes Trader Joe’s Nuts Raw California Walnut Pieces, Premium Walnut Halves, Baking Pieces and Halves and Pieces. It also includes Trader Joe’s Organic Raw Walnut Halves and Pieces.

The recall includes nuts with the ‘Best Buy’ dates included on this list.

The products are packaged in clear plastic bags with the UPC codes printed on the back.

To date, Trader Joe’s has not received any illness complaints related to the recalled products.

Customers who have purchased any of these nuts are urged not to consume them and to throw them away or return them to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund.
