Shots fired, suspect injured in overnight incident

CLEVELAND-The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating an overnight incident involving two of their officers.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a breaking-and-entering call at a store on Parkwood Drive and Primrose Avenue on the city's east side.

Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams told FOX 8 News when the two officers arrived to the location, they were not able to enter the store and called the owner to have him bring a key.

Roughly 12-15 minutes later, shots were fired in the area.

It is not known at this time who fired their weapon. The suspect was injured and taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment.

The officers involved were not hurt.
