"I felt, I felt young again. It was wonderful; it was wonderful,” said Regina Genet of Barberton.
Genet is one of over a dozen senior citizens at the Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living Center in Barberton who got "nearly" naked and posed for this very special, one-of-a-kind calendar.
"We did have more than a bathing suit on underneath to cover us up, and a pink towel that made it look like our body," said Sylvia Palcic of Barberton.
"I had a lot of fun doing it, something to make everybody laugh and everybody happy. I enjoyed it very much," said Velda Vogt of Barberton.
All the money from sales of the calendar goes to the Magic City Kiwanis Esther Ryan Shoe Fund to help provide shoes for children who need them.
"I think it's wonderful, that they even wanted to do something for the community. I think it's wonderful and the fact that they chose the shoe fund; I'm really overwhelmed,” said Esther Ryan of Barberton.
The seniors said they had a great time posing for the calendar; it made them feel like kids again.
"I'm February, Valentine's Day, and I'm 88. Oh it was fun; it was really fun, there were so many people that helped me and it was exhilarating,” said Dottie Rutter of Barberton.
"I was October, and I'm 90; I'll be 91 in May. It seems like everything we do is involving around being old and everything but this just made me feel, oh here I am young, having a good time and I don't care about anything else," said Genet.
If you are interested in buying one of the calendars, which sell for $12, you can call 330-848-5028 or visit the retirement home at 220 Third Street SE in Barberton.
