Voluntary evacuations in Willoughby Hills due to Chagrin River flood concerns

WILLOUGHBY HILLS  – According to Willoughby Hills police, residents are being assisted leaving their homes due to flooding from the Chagrin River.

flood1Police said that no one is being forced to evacuate, but if anyone chooses to, police will assist them. About ten people have been evacuated so far.

Police are watching the area as the water was flowing into their backyards.

Police are prepared to evacuate quickly if the situation escalates and are going to continue to monitor the area throughout the night.

There are also flooding concerns in Rocky River where the ice broke up earlier during the day Wednesday, causing emergency crews to take precautions.
