SANDUSKY, Ohio – Coaster enthusiasts take note: you can be one of the first riders on Cedar Point’s new floorless roller coaster, Rougarou, and help out a good cause all at the same time.

Place your bids now to be one of the coaster’s first 64 public riders at a special event at Cedar Point on Friday, May 8 from 5-7 p.m. All the proceeds from the auction will go to benefit the LeBron James Family Foundation.

Last summer, Cedar Point and the LeBron James Family Foundation announced they had formed a new multi-year partnership. In addition to  this year’s first ride auction, the park will also be hosting the foundation’s annual “I PROMISE Family Reunion” event.

Here’s what LeBron has to say about it on his Facebook page.

Anyone who participates and places the minimum bid of $123 will be invited to the first rider event and receive the Commemorative Medallion. Bidding for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is open now through Sunday, May 3. To place a bid, or raise a bid, you can go online to www.cedarpoint.com/FirstRideAuction.

The winners will get to choose their seat on the coaster, receive a commemorative medallion, a ball cap and two one-day tickets to the park. Plus, the top 8 bidders will  receive a Nike LeBron James St. Vincent-St. Mary High School basketball jersey.
