Officers arrested Dandre Charles Porter, 19, of Akron, Saturday morning. He was charged with robbery and taken to the Summit County Jail.

FOX 8 News’ Dave Nethers spoke to the victim’s mother in January. She said her son used his Christmas money to buy the pair of $234 special edition shoes.

“Something as innocent as ‘Let’s trade these shoes’ turned into him getting hit in the head and his shoes getting stolen,” his mom told Nethers. “It’s not worth it. $200 shoes versus getting hit or hurt or worse.”
