CLEVELAND  – Construction on the enhancements at Progressive Field for the upcoming season should be mostly finished by opening day, according to the team.

“We expect the project to be fully completed by April 10, given a typical weather warm-up. Should these sub-zero temps continue, there’s a chance center field gate and Upper Deck in right are not quite completed in time,” said Indians President Mark Shapiro.

The majority of the renovations will be finished in time, but if the weather does get better, the entire project will be finished on time.

“Everything else is either tented or was completed substantially enough before the real deep frost set in that we were able to move on at a really good pace,” said Shapiro.

Opening day is just 40 days away.
