Suspect in murder of Cleveland Police Chief’s brother dies

CLEVELAND- The woman accused of killing the brother of Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams died on Thursday.

William D. Williams, 34, was found dead at a house on Grantwood Avenue in Cleveland on Tuesday, police said. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

A homicide warrant was issued for 36-year-old Dana Johnson, William Williams’ girlfriend. She was pulled over by Pennsylvania troopers near the state line, where she shot herself.

The Allegheny County Coroner’s Office said Johnson was pronounced dead at about 11:17 a.m. Thursday, after her organs and tissue were gathered.

Calvin Williams was appointed police chief in February 2013.
