PARMA, Ohio- A Fat Tuesday tradition continues as bakeries around Northeast Ohio get ready for the Paczki rush!
People are lining up at Paczki bakeries like Colozza's on Ridge Road in Parma. The bakery makes 12 different flavors of the jelly pastries and they've been working non-stop to meet the growing demand this week. The treats get more and more popular every year.
"They are really good, but it's a traditional thing people really got into. It's like a holiday in Cleveland. All the bakeries seem to be doing it now. And, I can't believe it's like a phenomenon how many we sell in a day; it's unbelievable. You have to see it to believe it," said Angelo Colozza.
Colozza's bakery expects to sell more than 16,000 Paczkis this Fat Tuesday.
