CASPER, Wyo.- For one Wyoming woman, this was the first Valentine’s Day without her husband. But she still received a reminder of his undying love.
Jim Golay was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor last February and passed away. So when a bouquet arrived on Thursday, Shelly Golay assumed it was from her children.
But a call to the flower shop revealed her husband’s final act of love. He arranged to have her favorite flowers delivered every Valentine’s Day for the rest of her life.
“She called the other day. We all started almost bawling, so it was really touching to hear the story and know that he had done that for her. It seems like something that only happens in the movies or that you hear about,” florist Jessie Web said.
Shelly Golay said she plans to preserve this first bouquet of flowers.
“He’s such an amazing man and he can love beyond boundaries… Even in death, he’s just amazing,” Golay said.
