Donation accepted after couple, newborn baby escape Mentor-on-the-Lake fire

MENTOR-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio- Two people and their newborn baby escaped a fire in Mentor-on-the-Lake.

Firefighters were called to a house on Miami Drive near Live Oak Drive at about 11 p.m. Sunday.

The police department said the young couple and their four-day-old child are safe and staying with a relative.

The house was substantially damaged and the couple lost most of their possessions. Donations of baby items, clothing and money will be accepted at the Mentor-on-the-Lake Police Department.
