CHESTERLAND, Ohio – A home in Chester Township has serious damages after the roof collapsed under the weight of some snow on Friday.

The home on Prescott Drive in Chester Township is currently for sale.

On Friday, the fire department said the home couldn’t be salvaged. But on Saturday, Fire Chief John Wargelin said the home may be salvageable.

Wargelin said that by observing the current damage, it is not enough to deem the home a total loss, but a structural engineer will have to come in to determine if the home is still livable. The engineer is set to come see the home this week.

Luckily no one was home when the roof started to give way.
