North Ridgeville K-9 who recovered from spinal cord injury loses battle with cancer

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio- A North Ridgeville police K-9 who recovered from a spinal cord injury died of cancer on Thursday.

The veterinarian at Animal Clinic Northview diagnosed a mass on Sinta’s neck as a malignant tumor. On Thursday, they learned the aggressive cancer had already spread throughout his body.

The North Ridgeville Police Department said they decided to put the dog down before he wasted away in pain.

Sinta, who has served the city since 2007, suffered a spinal cord injury two years ago during a training exercise. He was initially paralyzed from the neck down, but was cleared for duty two months later.
