Investigation leads to rescue of nearly 100 animals in Geauga County

GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio – After an investigation in Geauga County, nearly 100 animals are being rescued. About 50 dogs, a pig, 2 goats and 50 guinea pigs are in the process of being sent to the Geauga County Humane Society to be rehabilitated.

Humane Officer Christian Courtwright said in a release that the owners will be prosecuted under Ohio humane law statues and Rescue Village is seeking any assistance available to help support these animals.

The cost is anticipated to exceed $25,000 for all of the animals recovery.
