CLEVELAND, Ohio– An investigator told the FOX 8 I-Team that there is insufficient evidence to file charges against Indians pitcher Danny Salazar.

Cleveland police said detectives presented the case to the city prosecutor’s office and no charges were issued.

Earlier Wednesday, Cleveland police said they were investigating a sexual assault report against the pitcher.

According to police, the Cleveland Division of Police Sex Crimes and Child Abuse was investigating the report.

The Cleveland Indians released the following statement Wednesday about the situation:

“We are aware of an investigation involving Danny,” said Cleveland Indians GM Chris Antonetti. “Since this potentially could become a legal matter, we won’t have any additional comment at this time.”
