Family dog attacks suspect in Port Clinton burglary

PORT CLINTON, Ohio- A family dog stopped a burglary at a Port Clinton home over the weekend.

It happened at a house on East 3rd Street just before 11 p.m. Sunday. The victim told police the dog heard the break-in, ran towards the door and attacked the suspect. The burglar got away, but not before suffering a few injuries.

Officers found a large amount of blood just inside the front door and leading to the street, Port Clinton police said. They asked area hospitals to notify them if anyone comes in with injuries to hands or arms.
