COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio Lottery has extended the deadline to purchase tickets for it New Year’s Raffle.

Only 500,000 tickets are available for the drawing, which was scheduled for Friday, but not all of them have been sold. Participants now have until Monday at noon, unless the Ohio Lottery sells out sooner.

But this has some Ohioans upset. Jeff Manco of Parma told Fox 8 News he thinks it’s wrong for the Ohio Lottery Commission to change the date of the New Year’s Raffle because it decreases the odds for people who bought their tickets on time.

According to the Ohio Lottery Commission, the lottery director has the discretion to change a drawing date and exercised that option with the New Year's Raffle game.

The Ohio Lottery Commission said sales will end sooner if all 500,000 tickets are sold before the deadline.

Sales for the tickets started on Nov. 9 at $20 each.

Results for the New Year’s Raffle will be posted on the Ohio Lottery’s website at 8:30 p.m. Monday.
