CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Kevin Love scored 27 points, Kyrie Irving had 23 and the Cleveland Cavaliers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 91-87 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night.

Tristan Thompson added 14 points and 14 rebounds as the Cavaliers won their first game since announcing LeBron James would miss two weeks with knee and back strains. Dion Waiters finished with 17 points.

Love returned to the lineup after missing one start with back spasms and played 38 minutes. He was 9 of 15 from the field and helped the Cavaliers (19-14) take control of the game with three straight 3-pointers in the third quarter after an injury scare.

Gerald Henderson led Charlotte (10-24) with 14 points. The Hornets have lost five in a row.
