CHICAGO, IL -- Police and fire responded to a partial building collapse at a Morton Salt storage facility in Chicago Tuesday afternoon.

According to our sister station, WGN, the wall of a building collapsed and a mountain of salt poured onto several vehicles that were parked nearby.

Fire officials believe that the salt was piled higher than it should have been, putting pressure on the wall.

WGN reports that the building was last inspected in March of 2014 and has an outstanding violation for failure to maintain the roof in sound condition.

There are no reported injuries.
