LYNDHURST, Ohio — The Legacy Village location of Claddagh Irish Pub will close on New Year’s Eve.

According to Justin O’Driscoll, director of operations at Claddagh Irish Pub, said the closure will affect 35 employees. Some will stay with the company and others are seeking other employment.

O’Driscoll says they decided to close after almost 12 years of business due to “excessive lease rates.” Fox 8 has reached out to Legacy Village for comment.

They are searching for another location in the Cleveland area in which to reopen.

O’Driscoll said anyone with a gift card should contact their corporate office for a refund by calling 440-349-6400.

Legacy Village released the following statement Tuesday afternoon:

“We are excited for the opportunity to re-tenant the Claddagh space with a high quality operator that will truly complement the collection of shops & restaurants in place here at Legacy Village. We look forward to  releasing details on a replacement tenant and other exciting new additions to our retailer mix in 2015.”
