LAKEWOOD, Ohio — A statue stolen from a local museum was anonymously returned early Friday morning.

Surveillance cameras captured a group of thieves taking the statue at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The video shows what appears to be two men standing guard while two others jumped a fence outside of Museum of Divine Statues on Madison Avenue in Lakewood.

They lifted the statue of St. Therese from the Memorial Garden, damaging other property in the process.

According to Lakewood police, the statue was returned at around 3:10 a.m. Friday, and was found sitting outside the museum.

Authorities say the bottom of the statue was broken, and repairs will have to be made.
