Purse-snatching suspect punches Akron woman, accused of robbing two others

AKRON, Ohio- Police are looking for information about a man suspected of three purse snatchings in Akron after a woman was punched during the latest attack.

The first robbery happened in the afternoon on Dec. 12 while the victim was walking in a parking lot on West Market Street.

The second victim was injured during another purse snatching on the same street just five days later. This time, the man opened the woman’s car door and grabbed her bag from the front seat. Police said they struggled over the purse before the suspect got ahold of it and fled.

The latest robbery happened Monday morning. A woman was walking on West Market Street with a cup of coffee when the suspect punched her in the stomach, knocking her to the ground. He took her purse and when she tried to take it back, he punched her again.
