Suspect in custody after Texas meteorologist shot in station parking lot

WACO, Texas – An employee of a Waco, Texas TV station was shot multiple times on Wednesday in the station parking lot after getting into a verbal dispute with the suspected shooter, officials told KCEN.

A suspect is currently in custody after police found him inside a house. They have yet to confirm if he is the shooter, but he was named a person of interest.

The morning show meteorologist, Patrick Crawford, has worked at the station for two years, and according to KCEN, he was able to drive away after the shooting and flagged down a construction worker for help.

The suspect was described as a white male, 30-35 years old, wearing dark jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt, and he also has a receding hairline.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Crawford was undergoing surgery at a local hospital.

The building was on lockdown for a short period after the shooting while police searched the area and the building.
