Driver in critical condition after fiery crash on I-77N

CUYAHOGA HEIGHTS - One person involved in a fiery crash on I-77 north Monday is in critical condition, while another has been released from the hospital.

According to MetroHealth Medical Center, Gary Flesher,  is in critical condition. He was the driver of a semi involved in the crash.

The other driver, John Gorick, has been discharged from the hospital.

The accident happened shortly after noon Monday on I-77 north between I-480 and I-490 near Grant Avenue.

A tanker carrying dry concrete collided with a minivan taxi, pinning it against a railroad overpass bridge in the northbound lanes. A guardrail was also hit.

ODOT inspected the bridge and deemed it safe for trains and traffic after the crash. No charges have been filed.

The accident remains under investigation.
