CANTON, Ohio- A suspected shoplifter is facing drug charges after police found ingredients to make methamphetamine in his car.

Jackson Township police were patrolling parking lots outside stores on Wednesday when they were called to the Kohl’s on Dressler Road for shoplifters. That’s where detectives arrested 24-year-old Richard Hollenbaugh, of Alliance.

Officers searched his car and found components to make meth, the department said. They also discovered stolen merchandise including jewelry, several GPS units and various other electronics.

Jackson Township police said they believe the stolen items may solve car break-ins in Stark and three neighboring counties.

Hollenbaugh was charged with theft and tampering with drugs.
